Julia Wong’s genre-spanning career as a motion picture editor has included collaborations with Mike Judge, Catherine Hardwicke, Brett Ratner and Greg McLean on blockbusters like "X-Men: The Last Stand" and "Hercules", thrillers like "The Belko Experiment", comedies like "Extract" and "The Pink Panther 2", and even the musical remake of the cult classic "Valley Girl". As a teenager in Philadelphia, Julia’s interest in film led her to jobs at cineplexes and arthouse theaters, where she watched her favorite and not-so-favorite films hundreds of times.
In film school, she discovered her penchant for editing and won the prestigious Student Eddie Award from the American Cinema Editors (A.C.E.). After nearly 20 years working in the industry, Julia has become an active member of A.C.E. and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She won the Golden Satellite Award for editing X-Men. She has been a guest speaker on panels for A.C.E., EditFest, and the Asian American Film Festival. And she has even taught as a guest professor at the UCLA graduate film program.
